USAID report finds more than 100 UNRWA employees participated in Hamas atrocities on Oct. 7

A report by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) reveals significant involvement of over 100 employees from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023.

The investigation led to referrals of more than 100 current or former UNRWA employees to the U.S. State Department for their roles in the attacks.

Among those referred, one individual, a former UNRWA school teacher and Hamas member, is accused of receiving and holding civilian hostages.

A former UNRWA school principal has been debarred after being found to coordinate with suspected Hamas militants during the attacks.

Record discrepancies resulted in the withdrawal of a referral for another deceased individual.

This development follows earlier findings from March, where 14 UNRWA employees were linked to Hamas activities.

More referrals to the State Department are anticipated, along with possible criminal referrals to the Department of Justice.

The USAID report highlights serious allegations against UNRWA employees related to terrorist activities. The unfolding situation points to ongoing scrutiny of the agency and potential further legal actions.
