The Dems’ Anti-ICE Campaign Was An Epic Fail

 The Democrats' unsuccessful campaign to stop President Donald Trump's border control measures, focusing on their failure to achieve meaningful reforms and the continued escalation of deportations and border wall construction.

• Funding for ICE and Border Security: The House passed a budget reconciliation bill that allocates $38 billion to fund ICE for three years, alongside $28 billion for Border Patrol and an additional $5 billion for border security technology.

• Deportation Rates: Deportations have reached near-historic highs, with ICE removing 234,236 individuals in the first six months of the fiscal year, compared to 134,500 during the same period the previous year. Deportation numbers have increased consistently, indicating a failure of advocacy against deportations.

• Democratic Political Defeat: The Democrats aimed to use government shutdown tactics to push for reforms like requiring judicial warrants for home entry and prohibiting certain practices among officers. However, they did not achieve any of these goals, leading to a perceived embarrassing defeat.

• Border Wall Construction: Despite Democratic opposition, construction of Trump’s border wall is progressing and is expected to be completed next year, even with attempts to block funding for sections of the wall in protected areas like Big Bend National Park.

• Lack of Accountability: There has been little consequence for Democratic leaders following their failed initiatives, with no public demand for accountability or recognition of the disruption caused by their policies.
