Southern Poverty Law Center Attacks Freedom Center for Reporting on Mamdani

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has targeted the David Horowitz Freedom Center, especially after the passing of its founder, David Horowitz. The SPLC accused the center and its associates of spreading hate against Muslims and misinformation about demographics, particularly regarding the Muslim population in New York City. The center is committed to continuing its advocacy and reporting despite these criticisms.

1. SPLC's Victory Lap: The SPLC celebrated Horowitz's death, labeling him an anti-Muslim figure while attacking his work and the Freedom Center.

2. Allegations of Hate: The SPLC described the Freedom Center as part of a network promoting Islam as a threat to democracy, accusing it of spreading racist misinformation.

3. Demographic Reporting: SPLC criticized the Freedom Center for reporting on the increasing Muslim migrant population in New York City, even calling such statistics “dangerous. ”

4. Criticism of Islam Experts: The SPLC was particularly vocal against Robert Spencer, who discussed implications of recent political victories relating to jihadism.

5. Denouncement of Islamic Violence: Within the context, the SPLC shifts focus away from violence perpetrated by Muslims, choosing instead to frame other groups as hateful, while ignoring crimes against non-Muslims.

6. Ongoing Targeting: The SPLC has campaigned against the Freedom Center for over two decades, attempting to silence its messaging and portray its leaders negatively.

7. Rejection of SPLC's Narrative: The Freedom Center asserts that the real threats are Islamic supremacist violence and emphasizes the need to address these issues honestly and openly.

Despite the SPLC's ongoing attacks, the David Horowitz Freedom Center remains resolute in its mission to speak out on issues concerning Islamic violence and political extremism. The SPLC’s focus on labeling opposing views as hate is criticized, suggesting that it undermines genuine discussions about these serious issues.
