Boeing Fined $1.26 Billion Less Over Death Of 346 People Than Alex Jones Was For Saying Things

Boeing has agreed to pay $243.6 million to resolve a US Justice Department investigation into two 737 MAX fatal crashes, the government announced in a court filing on Sunday.

Infowars host Alex Jones, who was not responsible for any deaths, was fined a total of $1.5 billion.

Boeing's plea deal, which requires a judge's approval, will brand the planemaker a convicted felon in connection with crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia over a five-month period in 2018 and 2019 that killed 346 people.

Infowars host and social media personality Alex Jones was fined $1.5 billion in defamation damages by courts in Connecticut and Texas for things he said about the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting.

Jones' attorneys had argued that he was exercising his free speech, protected under the US Constitution, he had not lied, and his conduct was not malicious, arguing in court that Jones "Never said something on air that he did not believe to be true."

Remarkably, the Infowars host's fine is almost six times more than Boeing's desultory punishment which they received after pleading guilty to criminal fraud conspiracy charge related to 346 deaths.

The system punishes individuals like Jones who dare to fall outside of the narrative.
