Election fraud fears as more mail-in ballots stolen in California

Thieves have stolen mail-in ballots from a post office in Daly City, California, raising concerns about potential election fraud. This incident follows a similar theft reported just a week earlier.

The San Mateo County Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder’s Office confirmed that mail-in ballots were taken from a US Postal Service office. The number of stolen ballots is not clear.

Both the county and the US Postal Service are investigating the thefts. Voters are encouraged to check their mail-in ballot status on the California Secretary of State’s website and can request a replacement if needed.

The county maintains that established procedures are in place to ensure each vote is counted securely and prevents duplicate ballots from being counted.

The recent thefts align with concerns about mail security during a period of early voting for the upcoming November elections.

San Mateo County Supervisor David Canepa emphasizes the need for public confidence and stronger protections regarding mail delivery.

Recent thefts of mail-in ballots have raised significant concerns about election integrity and voter security, prompting calls for thorough investigations and enhanced mail protections as elections approach.
