WH announces 9 new agreements with pharma manufacturers aimed at slashing prescription drug costs for Americans

President Trump announced nine new agreements with pharmaceutical companies to lower prescription drug costs in the U.S. by linking prices to those of other developed nations.

The agreements use a "most-favored-nation" (MFN) pricing model.

26 pharmaceutical companies, representing 89% of the branded drug market, now participate.

New manufacturers include Alcon, Astellas, and others, covering treatments for various conditions.

Medicaid programs will access these lower prices, saving billions.

Manufacturers pledged $19.6 billion for U.S. manufacturing and to provide essential drugs for national supply security.

The administration aims for $600 billion in savings over the next decade and is pushing for the Great Healthcare Plan to establish MFN protections.

President Trump claims these measures have made prescription drugs cheaper for Americans.
