It targets issues in the meat supply chain caused by large corporations’ control and aims to lower food prices for consumers.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture will streamline inspection processes, making it easier for smaller operations to compete.
The order also focuses on preventing price-fixing and promoting transparency in cattle pricing to ensure fair earnings for ranchers.
The administration believes these reforms will ultimately lower retail beef prices and strengthen national food security, although building independent processing facilities may take time.
