The Trump administration announced the closure of 270 truck driving schools for issuing licenses to illegal immigrants and failing to meet English-language proficiency requirements.
Approximately 5,000 individuals were trained at these schools, where serious violations were found.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy emphasized the importance of English proficiency for commercial drivers and stated that the crackdown wouldn't lead to a driver shortage.
