Russian Intelligence Service Members Charged for Terrorism and Murder-for-Hire Plot in US

Five individuals associated with Russia's intelligence services have been charged with serious crimes, including terrorism and planning murders globally, specifically targeting the United States.

The accused are involved in a conspiracy to commit terrorism and plan targeted killings both in the U.S. and other countries.

They allegedly financed and attempted to pay individuals to conduct surveillance and carry out killings.

The Department of Justice mentioned that their activities included targeting civilian and military infrastructure in European nations allied with Ukraine.

U.S. Attorney Jamie McDonald highlighted the seriousness of these threats, stating that such actions commissioned by state actors will not be tolerated.

The individuals, who have been operating since 2024, include Yuri Khrameev, Kirill Khrameevyuri, Oemis Romagoza Durruthykirill, Yaidel Delgado Suarez, and Angel Eduardo Castro.

The group is accused of multiple global terrorist acts, including a recent plot to murder a notable Russian dissident in the U.S.

The charges signify the aggressive and far-reaching nature of this Russian-led network, and U.S. authorities are committed to investigating and prosecuting such threats regardless of their origin.
