Rayden Tanner Coleman, a 19-year-old from Columbia City, Oregon, has been sentenced for his involvement in a plot to kill federal agents at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Portland. He pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful manufacture of a destructive device.
Coleman was arrested on February 4 after planning to bomb and kill ICE agents. Initially charged with 15 offenses, including domestic terrorism, he had 13 charges dismissed after pleading guilty on September 1.
The judge sentenced Coleman to three years of probation and 75 days in jail, with no additional time left to serve due to credit for prior time served.
His plot involved stalking agents, using night vision goggles, and wearing camouflage. He aimed to use explosives to kill them and take their heads as trophies.
Coleman had weapons and homemade explosive devices, including Molotov cocktails, found in his vehicle at the time of his arrest and was making payments on an AR-15.
He shared his violent intentions in a manifesto on Discord, attempting to recruit friends to join him, claiming he was "sick and tired" of immigration enforcement.
Police apprehended him after one of his roommates’ parents reported his plans, leading to his arrest during a traffic stop.
Coleman's actions and the serious nature of his plot have resulted in significant legal repercussions, reflecting heightened concerns regarding domestic terrorism and violence against federal agents.
