DNC Chair Secretly Addressed Chinese Communist Party Conference

 DNC Chairman Emeritus Howard Dean participated in a conference in China hosted by organizations linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The event raised concerns regarding U.S.-China relations.

Dean delivered a welcome address virtually on June 23, 2026, for a dialogue organized by the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), claimed to be controlled by Chinese intelligence.

The Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD), also linked to the CCP, co-organized the conference.

Lu Kang, a CCP vice minister, urged American attendees to move past viewing China as an enemy and to adopt a more strategic perception of China.

Lu suggested that misunderstandings and biases hinder U.S.-China relations, advocating for increased exchanges to improve mutual perceptions.

The next day, similar discussions took place, with American speakers addressing the need for understanding and cooperation.

The conference highlighted ongoing collaborations between U.S. figures and Chinese organizations with CCP ties, prompting discussions about U.S. foreign policy and perceptions of China.
