Trump pledges to replenish U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve following landmark Venezuela deal

President Donald Trump has announced plans to replenish the United States Strategic Petroleum Reserve using oil obtained from Venezuela. This initiative comes after securing a significant deal involving access to Venezuela's extensive oil reserves.

Trump stated he will quickly refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which he claims has been nearly depleted under President Biden.

He referred to the deal with Venezuela as a massive achievement, acquiring access to over 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, described as the "biggest oil deal in world history."

The agreement involves cooperation with Venezuelan Interim President Delcy Rodríguez and private-sector partners, supported by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Venezuela is reported to have the world's largest oil reserves, containing over 300 billion barrels of crude oil, surpassing Saudi Arabia's total.

Trump believes this move will enhance U.S. energy security and potentially reduce fuel costs for Americans.
