Newly obtained information reveals that in May 2021, Dr. Janet Woodcock, a former top official at the FDA, expressed concerns to Dr. Anthony Fauci about potential side effects of COVID-19 vaccines. This information came to light through excerpts from Fauci’s government emails shared by Republican Senators Ron Johnson and Rand Paul.
Dr. Woodcock warned Fauci about reports of health issues following vaccination, noting that symptoms were not distinct or easily measured.
She stated that existing reporting systems like VAERS might not capture these issues effectively and called for a study, which she doubted the industry would support.
Fauci acknowledged Woodcock’s concerns in his response, suggesting they consult with CDC Director Rachel Walensky, although it’s unclear if this happened.
By the time of Woodcock’s email, there were over 440,000 reported adverse events and nearly 8,650 deaths linked to COVID vaccinations.
Concerns were raised about data evaluation methods potentially hiding safety signals, which some officials allegedly ignored.
The release raises questions about FDA officials' communication and response to reported vaccine-related health concerns, particularly regarding what Dr. Woodcock knew at the time.
