CCP Intelligence Official — Trained As a Sniper — Buys Building 650 Feet From White House

A senior official from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Philip Qiu (also known as Qui Feili), recently purchased a building located approximately 650 feet from the White House for $8.4 million. This acquisition has raised concerns regarding national security.

Qiu, who has a history in Chinese intelligence and is a trained sniper, bought the property through the Philip Qiu and Family Foundation on July 21, 2026.

The building's proximity to the White House allows for potential surveillance capabilities, which U.S. intelligence experts believe could lead to espionage activities.

Bryan Dean Wright, a former CIA officer, pointed out that such a property could function as a listening post, enabling the collection of sensitive information like phone calls and digital communications.

Questions have arisen about the legality and implications of a CCP intelligence official holding property so close to the U.S. government's nerve center, especially considering that Americans are prohibited from purchasing property near China's leadership compound in Beijing.

Concerns are being voiced on social media about the security risks posed by having foreign intelligence officials so near to critical government infrastructure.

The purchase of this building by a CCP official highlights significant national security concerns, particularly regarding foreign influence and surveillance near the White House. There are growing calls for stricter regulations on foreign acquisitions of property in proximity to the seats of U.S. power.
