Florida AG to launch investigation into Fauci over COVID-19 conduct

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced an investigation into Dr. Anthony Fauci, following his recent congressional testimony during which he invoked the Fifth Amendment.

Uthmeier criticized Fauci's behavior, calling it "unbelievable" that he did not answer questions during his appearance before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, where he refused to answer over 100 times.

Fauci stated he was following his legal advice when he chose to remain silent under the Fifth Amendment, which protects individuals from self-incrimination.

Uthmeier's investigation has support from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who previously suggested pursuing legal actions against Fauci after he received a federal pardon from former President Joe Biden, which DeSantis labeled an abuse of power.

DeSantis expressed confidence in the new Attorney General's willingness to explore potential state law violations in Fauci's conduct during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The investigation by Uthmeier aims to uncover the truth about Fauci's actions during the pandemic, reflecting ongoing tensions and controversies surrounding federal responses to COVID-19.
