Agriculture appropriation $186.2M

 The North Carolina state budget allocates over $186.2 million for agriculture and agribusiness, which has been approved by the General Assembly and sent to the governor. Agriculture in the state, a critical industry, contributes $102 billion annually to the economy.

● Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services: $186.2 million

● Department of Natural and Cultural Resources: $327.7 million

● Department of Commerce: $140.4 million

● Department of Environmental Quality: $111.9 million

● Department of Labor: $28.7 million

● Department of Wildlife Resources Commission: $18.9 million

● Agricultural Impact: North Carolina ranks eighth nationally for the value of agricultural products and leads in several categories like sweet potatoes and poultry.

● Additional Funds: The Agriculture Department will receive $58.5 million from reserve funds, $7 million for a forest development program related to Hurricane Helene, and $7.5 million for capital projects.
