ICE has arrested 10,000 migrant gang members so far in Trump’s second term, DHS reveals

The U. S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested over 10,000 migrant gang members since the beginning of President Trump's second term. This announcement highlights the government's aggressive stance on immigration enforcement and gang-related crimes.

● Arrests Made: ICE has apprehended more than 10,000 gang members, reaching this figure just a year and a half into Trump's second term. The arrests include individuals linked to serious crimes such as murder, drug trafficking, robbery, and extortion.

● Secretary's Statements: DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin attributed many gang members’ presence in the U. S. to previous policies under President Joe Biden. Mullin described these individuals as dangerous criminals who have committed various acts of violence against American citizens.

● New Funding: The announcement comes alongside the passage of the Secure America Act, which provides $70 billion in funding for immigration enforcement, aimed at increasing ICE's capabilities to arrest more gang members.

● Notable Arrests: The 10,000th arrest involved Javier Hernandez Rosas, a Mexican illegal migrant and MS-13 gang member with a criminal history. Other arrests included Salvadoran gang members wanted for serious crimes in their home countries.

● Criminal Profiles: Some of the arrested individuals had extensive criminal backgrounds, including connections to brutal murders and other felonies in both the U. S. and their native countries.

● Broader Deportations: Beyond gang members, the DHS reported that nearly 900,000 illegal immigrants have been deported since President Trump took office in January 2025.

The DHS's report on gang member arrests highlights the current administration's hardline immigration policy and ongoing efforts to combat gang-related crime in the U. S. This initiative reflects the Trump administration's priorities regarding national security and immigration enforcement.
