Iran protests continue for 6th day as death toll reaches at least 10

Protests in Iran have continued for six days, spreading to many provinces and resulting in at least two more deaths. The unrest is fueled by economic distress due to a significant decline in the national currency, the rial, now valued at about 42,125 to the US dollar. Demonstrations have occurred in 22 out of 31 provinces, with rising prices causing public frustration.

Recent incidents included the deaths of two individuals in Qom due to an explosion and a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard killed in Harsin during a violent attack. Iranian authorities are detaining protesters, with dozens arrested recently. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei acknowledged the legitimacy of protests but condemned violence, emphasizing the need for dialogue with peaceful protesters. He linked the unrest to "soft warfare" by external enemies.
