DOJ Sues Blue States for Blocking Voter Roll Audits

Voter confidence in U. S. elections has been declining, with a recent Gallup survey indicating that only 57% of Americans believe votes are accurately counted. The media often blame this on "election deniers," yet overlook states that do not comply with federal election laws.

1. Election Integrity Crisis:

• The liberal establishment is accused of creating an integrity crisis by neglecting to maintain accurate voter registration rolls, leading to legal challenges by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

• The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) require states to maintain clean voter rolls and make them publicly accessible.

2. DOJ Legal Actions:

• The DOJ has filed lawsuits against 14 states for violating these laws. The Assistant Attorney General announced that there are currently 15 lawsuits, including multiple cases against California.

• North Carolina has agreed to rectify its voter rolls, removing 100,000 voters who lacked proper identification according to federal requirements.

3. Alarming Findings:

• The DOJ has uncovered over 260,000 deceased individuals and several thousand non-citizens registered to vote, raising concerns about election integrity.

4. State Resistance:

• Some states, like California, resist audits, claiming they violate citizens' rights. State officials argue that the DOJ’s actions threaten voter privacy and democracy.

5. Challenges of Non-Compliance:

• Federal funds are provided to states to help maintain accurate voter rolls, but many states ignore this support. This raises questions about their motives and transparency regarding voter registration.

The ongoing issues with voter registration rolls, combined with state resistance to audits and federal laws, contribute to the erosion of public confidence in elections. The situation suggests that some states may have something to hide, further complicating the integrity of the electoral process. As the DOJ continues its efforts to enforce compliance with existing laws, the implications for state accountability and voter trust remain significant.
