California health care executive Cashmir Chinedu Luke was arrested for allegedly committing fraud against a veterans support program, draining over $7 million.
• Luke, 66, was apprehended at San Francisco International Airport while trying to fly to Nigeria.
• He is accused of submitting false claims to the Department of Veterans Affairs for home care services that were never provided.
• Some claims reportedly included care for veterans who had already died.
• Luke ran Four Corners Health LLC, providing in-home assistance to veterans in several counties.
• Investigators identified about 10,000 fraudulent claims submitted between December 2019 and July 2024.
• If convicted, Luke faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The case is overseen by the U. S. Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General.
