The start of 2025 has been momentous for Convention of States as the COS Resolution moves through legislatures from coast to coast!
New Hampshire: Passed the House committee 10-7 and is headed to a floor vote
Idaho: Passed the House Judiciary, Rules & Administration Committee and is headed to the floor for a vote
Wyoming: Passed the Senate committee and floor vote, pending hearing in the House Committee on Education
Kansas: Passed Senate committee, heading to the Senate floor soon
Iowa: Passed subcommittee hearings in both the House and Senate and is pending full committee votes in both chambers
South Dakota: Passed the Senate committee and floor vote, as well as the House committee vote
The momentum is undeniable. In a few short legislative weeks, COS has secured an incredible 200 sponsors and co-sponsors for the COS Resolution!
Grassroots activists continue to travel to their state capitols for Capitol Surge Days. So far this year, we’ve already hosted surges in 17 states (CO, HI, IA, ID, IN, MD, MI, MN, MS, MT, ND, NE, OR, SC, TN, UT, and WY) and have 17 more scheduled in the weeks ahead.
Samuel, when the Convention of States movement started in 2013, “self-governance” was a term that was rarely discussed. But today, we’re witnessing a historic shift as the current administration makes bold moves to cut government. And while these reforms are welcome, we know that PERMANENT change will only occur by calling an Article V convention to propose amendments, irreversibly enshrining them in the U.S. Constitution.
While awareness and support for Article V have increased dramatically in recent years, so have misinformation campaigns that have left many confused. That’s why we’re determined to win this information war by reaching and engaging every liberty-loving American with the truth.
Our efforts are making waves online. In fact, President Trump recently shared a message on social media with Mark Levin’s statement about his good friend and founder of Convention of States, Mark Meckler, as well as Levin’s own leadership role in COS. Meanwhile, our strategic social media marketing efforts continue to bring in thousands of new COS petition signers each month.
