Democrats charged with election fraud amid party's efforts to obstruct election integrity measures

Democrats are facing new allegations of election fraud related to mail-in ballots dating back to 2021, despite previously criticizing Republicans' concerns over election integrity.

1. Election Fraud Charges:

Five Democratic members from Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Philadelphia have been indicted on multiple counts of voter fraud linked to mail-in ballots.

2. Bridgeport Incident:

Bridgeport needed to redo its primary and general elections after evidence of alleged ballot harvesting emerged from the September 2023 mayoral primary. The incumbent mayor, whose supporter was implicated, denied knowledge of the fraud.

3. Criminal Charges:

The individuals charged include Wanda Geter-Pataky, Vice Chair of the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee, and three city council members. Geter-Pataky faces the most serious charges with 92 counts, including possession of ballots.

4. Response from Authorities:

Connecticut's Chief State’s Attorney emphasized the importance of maintaining election integrity and taking voter fraud allegations seriously.

5. Philadelphia Arrests:

In Millbourne, Pennsylvania, three individuals were indicted for attempting to win a 2021 mayoral race by illegally casting mail-in ballots and forging voter signatures.

6. Defense Claims:

Lawyers for the charged individuals argue against the allegations, suggesting political motivation behind the charges and expressing intentions to defend their clients in court.

These incidents highlight ongoing debates within the Democratic Party about election integrity and allegations of fraudulent activities. The charged individuals will appear in court soon, and the Democratic Party of Connecticut has stated that anyone found guilty of election violations will be held accountable.
