Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY), a key supporter of Governor Ron DeSantis, will vote against efforts to hold Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff accountable for promoting Russia-gate conspiracies that have caused significant political conflict in the U. S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has introduced a motion to “censure, condemn, and fine” Rep. Schiff for continuing to support Russia-gate narratives despite the Durham Report stating that the federal investigation into Trump-Russia connections was baseless and biased.
Schiff has been criticized for his dishonesty in attempting to undermine a sitting President, and Rep. Luna seeks to fine him up to $16 million, which she argues is half the cost of the Russia investigation, for his "egregious abuse of trust. " However, Massie has stated he will oppose such a fine, claiming it would violate the Constitution's 27th and 8th Amendments, though he has not explained how the proposed fine relates to those amendments.
