The European Union has found that Bluesky, a social media platform owned by Elon Musk, has violated the Digital Services Act by becoming a haven for leftists, pedophiles, and others struggling mentally with Trump's election victory. Despite this, the EU lacks the authority to enforce regulations on Bluesky as it is not classified as a "very large online platform" yet under DSA guidelines. The European Commission has stated that platforms operating in the EU must disclose their number of EU users and legal base on a dedicated webpage, which Bluesky has not done. The Commission has asked member states to help locate Bluesky offices but has not contacted the platform directly. Bluesky's user base is still below 45 million, not meeting the threshold for tighter regulations under the DSA, even though its user numbers have recently grown from 15 million to 22. 5 million due to events like the U. S. Presidential election.
