Dave McCormick Defeats Bob Casey Jr. Giving the GOP 53 Senate Seats.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick has defeated Pennsylvania's incumbent Senator Bob Casey Jr., with 49 percent of the vote counted. The race had been closer, with under 0.5 percent separating the two candidates. Under Pennsylvania law, any race under half a percent heads to an automatic recount. McCormick will join a new generation of America First lawmakers who rode President-elect Donald J. Trump's coattails in his historic landslide victory. In Ohio, Bernie Moreno defeated the entrenched Democrat incumbent Sherrod Brown, while Governor Jim Justice won his state's open senate seat following the retirement of Sen. Joe Manchin. In Montana, veteran and entrepreneur Tim Sheehy easily bested Senator John Tester. The Republicans will have a 53-seat majority in the U.S. Senate, and leadership elections are set to take place next week. However, the U.S. Senate race in Arizona is still too close to call, with Representative Ruben Gallego narrowly leading Republican candidate Kari Lake by just 50,000 votes.
