Special counsel Jack Smith is in discussions with senior Department of Justice officials to end his cases against President-elect Donald J. Trump, following the Department's policy of prohibiting prosecuting a sitting president. Smith's team is evaluating how to halt proceedings in the federal election subversion case in Washington, D.C. and the ongoing appeal concerning the classified documents case, which was dismissed by Judge Aileen Cannon. Trump has pleaded not guilty in Florida's federal court for unlawfully keeping classified documents post-presidency and obstructing their retrieval. The Supreme Court's recent ruling granting partial immunity to presidents has significantly impacted these cases, with the January 6 case returned to a lower court and the classified documents case dismissed by Judge Cannon, who deemed Smith's appointment unconstitutional.
It's becoming increasingly difficult to discern fact from fiction, and unfortunately the media has a strong bias. They spin stories to make conservatives look bad and will go to great lengths to avoid reporting on the good that comes from conservative policies. There are a few shining lights in the media landscape-brave conservative outlets that report the truth and offer a different perspective. We must support conservative outlets like this one and ensure that our voices are heard.
