House appropriations chairman, two other incumbents knocked out in Republican runoffs

Most of the $1 million raised for the runoff election in House District 32 went to Wallace, the House Appropriations and Budget Committee chairman from Wellston.

The $780,000 Wallace raised came from other House Republicans plus three senators and the Senate Republicans PAC, as well as Attorney General Gentner Drummond, former Attorney General Mike Hunter and former Democratic U.S. Rep. Dan Boren.

Shaw, a Chandler rancher involved in the oil and gas industry, put $275,000 of his own money into taking out one of the Legislature’s most influential figures and raised about $50,000 through other sources. Shaw was endorsed by Gov. Kevin Stitt and the cockfighters’ group Oklahoma Gamefowl Commission.

Stephens did outraise his opponent, but his money came from Oklahoma Senate leadership, which has often found itself at odds with candidates supported by Stitt.

Stitt, Congress member King, Commissioner Kim David and Carolyn Coburn for endorsing me and so many others who just helped make it happen by volunteering,” McIntosh said.

And I’m also very grateful to Gov.

“I just want to say thank you to all of the volunteers that came out and spent countless hours volunteering on our team, knocking doors and just, you know, doing all the things that it takes to have a successful positive campaign,” Gillespie said.
