A defiant Fani Willis refused to appear before a Georgia state senate investigative committee and afterward claimed they don't have the power to subpoena her as they have threatened.

Fani may not think the state senate has the power to subpoena her, but lawmakers disagree: The committee chairman, State Sen. Bill Cowsert, told FOX 5 in a phone interview following Willis' news conference that he maintains that the committee has the legal power to compel her testimony.
"This is what treating everybody evenly looks like, even if DA Willis doesn't like being held accountable." Meanwhile, Willis didn't comment on an ABC interview that also aired Monday featuring her former paramour, whose statement contradicted what Willis has said in the past.
