Anyone advocating for a civil war in the U.S. is naïve, insane, or working against America. A real revolution requires armaments, soldiers, money, a cause, and popular support. Overcoming the opposition is daunting, with local, state, and federal peacekeeping forces.
Historical examples of failed uprisings include the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794, John Brown's Raid in 1859, and the Weather Underground in the 1960s and 1970s. The American Revolution and Civil War were major military conflicts, not small-scale rebellions.
Today, the U.S. faces division over unlimited illegal immigration. The White House's open border policy could lead to martial law or gun bans, but the anticipated horde of right-wing extremists does not exist. Instead, states are getting involved, with the Texas National Guard sent to the border.
If Democrats continue unlimited illegal immigration, Biden could nationalize the Texas National Guard, but what if Texas refuses? Would Biden order the armed forces to disarm or attack the Texas Guard? History shows that civil wars occur when our country is divided and states believe they must get involved. Let us hope for sanity to prevail.
