Modern Democrats always fancied themselves the party of civil rights, but their monomaniacal focus on race and identity began with Obama's election and grew and metastasized into today's obsession with identity following the election and during the presidency of Donald Trump.

How many times did Obama mention the 1953 overthrow of Mohammed Mossadegh in Iran? How many times did Obama kowtow obsequiously to the Iranian mullahs? Why did Obama go out of his way to insult the British by returning the Oval Office's Churchill bust? Why did Obama so ostentatiously refer to Pakistan as "Pahk-i-stahn"?
Speaking of Scott, Obama said, "There's a long history of African American or other minority candidates within the Republican Party who will validate America and say, 'Everything's great, and we can make it. If somebody's not proposing - both acknowledging and proposing - elements that say, 'No, we can't just ignore all that and pretend as if everything's equal and fair. We actually have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.' If they're not doing that, then I think people are rightly skeptical."
