Most Americans are not better off
- 35% of Americans say they are better off now than they were a year ago, while 50% are worse off.
- Most lower-income Americans, 61%, say their financial situation has deteriorated over the past year, while less than half that number, 26%, indicate it has improved.
- 37% say that they're better off and 49% say they're worse off, while there is a split between upper-income people and people in the middle and lower classes
- Democrats are much more likely to say they’re doing better than Republicans, but Republicans are also worse off than Democrats.
