- Most of the plastic in American recycling bins has gone to developing countries with primitive waste-handling systems
- Environmental activists may not care that these bans have added to the cost of groceries, inconvenienced shoppers, and caused new headaches for merchants
- They seem to care more about climate change and public space pollution than they do about plastic bags
