TRAITORS: GOP Senators Led By Graham Slam Trump Jan. 6 Pardon Promise

President Donald J. Trump's statements about handing out pardons to Americans who are people politically persecuted over the events of Jan. 6 2021 are being mocked and slammed by some Senate Republicans who never stand firm in their support and defense of the America First agenda that they claim to support.

The news of Graham's comments comes as the House panel supposedly investigating the events at the U.S. Capitol on Jan 6th, 2021, is starting up the public portion of its probe again, eyeing at least two more hearings in the coming weeks- hoping to discredit Trump and his supporters further.

  • More GOP members are slamming Trump's promise to pardon the Jan. 6 protesters, claiming that his statements are inappropriate

Mike Rounds: “I would disagree with it. I think there was insurrection and I think these folks need to be punished.”

  • Rounds said he wouldn’t support granting pardons to people convicted of crimes because of their actions on Jan. 6.

Not every Republican is quick to dismiss the idea of a pardon.

  • Senate Republican Whip John Thune (S.D.) said people who committed crimes on Jan. 6 must face the consequences of their actions
  • "The only people that get pardoned are people who are charged with crimes," he said. "The rule of law applies. If people broke laws, they need to be held accountable."
  • Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said pardoning people who invaded the Capitol to stop Biden's election would be wrong

The Associated Press found that federal prosecutors have filed more than 300 cases related to the protests that swept America after Floyd's death.

  • More than 120 defendants have pleaded guilty to crimes such as rioting and arson and more than 70 have received sentences, with the average penalty being 27 months in prison.
