Trump Makes Manufacturing Great Again: Nvidia to Build Supercomputers for DOE with Chips Made in America

Nvidia, a leading tech company, recently made important announcements regarding its partnerships and projects aimed at advancing artificial intelligence (AI) technology. CEO Jensen Huang shared news about building supercomputers for the U. S. Department of Energy and other collaborations that emphasize American manufacturing.

• Supercomputers for the Department of Energy: Nvidia plans to construct seven supercomputers for various applications, such as maintaining the U. S. nuclear arsenal and researching alternative energy like nuclear fusion. The largest supercomputer will use 100,000 Nvidia chips and will be developed in partnership with Oracle.

• Strong Demand for AI Technology: Nvidia reported securing $500 billion in bookings for its chips over the next five quarters, showing significant market interest in its technology.

• Collaborations with Other Companies:

• Nvidia formed a partnership with Nokia, investing $1 billion for a stake aimed at improving AI communication technologies, specifically for 6G networks.

• A partnership with Palantir Technologies will focus on logistics innovations for commercial businesses, enhancing operational efficiencies.

• Advancements in Automotive Technology: Nvidia introduced the Hyperion platform for self-driving cars and announced a collaboration with Uber to develop a network of robot taxis.

• Trade Dynamics with China: The U. S.-China trade war remains a concern for Nvidia. Huang emphasized the importance of accessing the Chinese market for Nvidia's sales and the funding of U. S.-based research and development efforts.

• Domestic Manufacturing Emphasis: Despite global challenges, Nvidia continues to manufacture chips in Arizona and assemble servers in Texas, reflecting a commitment to American manufacturing. Huang credited President Trump for encouraging the return of manufacturing to the U. S.

Nvidia is positioning itself at the forefront of AI technology through strategic partnerships and a focus on U. S. manufacturing. With the company’s ongoing projects and innovations, it is set to maintain its leadership role in the tech industry amidst global trade challenges.
